People

Frederik Loeckx, Chief Executive Officer

Frederik Loeckx received the M.S. degree in electrical engineering from the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Belgium in 1996. In July 2001, he obtained an MBA degree from the Vlerick Leuven Gent Management School. From 1996 to 2003, Frederik worked for Utimaco Safeware, a leading company in computer security solutions. Within Utimaco, he was responsible for the development of several product platforms. From January 2003 on, Frederik worked as innovation advisor at the GOM Vlaams Brabant. He supported several companies and starters in bringing their innovative ideas to market. His background provides Frederik with a thorough understanding on how to put innovative technology on the market and on the general management of a small organisation.

Piet Vanassche, Chief Operations Officer

Piet received the Ph.D. degree in microelectronics and the M.S. degree from the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Belgium in 2003 and 1997 respectively. From 2003 to 2006 he has worked with Siemens Belgium as an R&D engineer in the areas of process modelling and advanced process control. In this position, he cooperated on the implementation of several commercial projects, mainly in the pulp and paper industry.  Both his R&D and industry experience provide Piet with a broad technological and practical know-how.

Jeroen Van den Keybus, Chief Technology Officer

Jeroen received the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering and the M.S. degree in microelectronics from the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Belgium in 2003 and 1998 respectively. His thesis describes power conversion applications in low-voltage distribution grids in a deregulated market and was conducted under the supervision of Prof. Ronnie Belmans. The Triphase Smart Inverter technology finds its origins in this work. With the early versions of the technology, Jeroen has succesfully completed several industrial projects. Jeroen has gathered a vast knowledge on power electronics, on high-speed digital and analog hardware design and on real-time operating systems.

Hans Keppens, Chief Software Architect

Hans received the M.S. degree in computer sciences from the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Belgium in 1996. From 1996 to 2000, Hans worked as a software engineer for AT&T Istel and Alti International where he was one of their lead software architects. From 2000 until 2004, Hans worked as a senior software architect for DATA4s, a KULeuven spin-off. By the end of 2004, Hans joined one of the quality assurance teams of EMC², a company providing solutions for reliable data storage. Here, he helped to promote lean development methods that emphasize a focus on high quality results with immediate customer value. His great experience with software design and lean product development makes Hans ideally suited to manage complex software projects in a way that keeps the development team focused on creating customer value.
