Applying Triphase Smart Inverter Technology

Motor drive control

The Triphase Smart Inverter Target Platform can be used to prototype innovative, experimental algorithms for drive control. The algorithm's functioning is directly tested in a real environment against real motor hardware. Performance characteristics, like energy efficiency and dynamic response, are readily measured. Thanks to the flexibility of the Smart Inverter Target Platform, design changes can be dowloaded and tested on the fly. This  interactive way of engineering results in short development times whereby  focus is given to generating added value. 

In a second stage, algorithms developed during the prototyping stage can be loaded on Triphase Smart Inverter hardware that is embedded into the final product hardware. In this way, new drive controls are realized while minimizing the time-to-market.

Power grid current control

A second application of the Triphase Smart Inverter technology comprises the realization of algorithms for prower grid current control. Power grid current control is needed to realize grid interfaces that minimize distortion and that optimize the power factor. Power grid current control is found in active frontends and active filters that are used to couple motors, generators and other electrical devices to the grid. 

The Triphase Smart Inverter Target Platform can be used to prototype new, innovative algorithms for grid current control. The algorithm's functioning can be  directly tested  in a real environment. Using embedded Smart Inverter hardware, new controls realized while minimizing the time-to-market.
